The Grand Haven Lighthouse Quilt Guild’s community fund has donated funds to my aunt Cyndi Jones Phillip to make quilts for the future residents of Mackenzie’s House. Aunt Cyndi asked me to join their meeting tonight and give a quick update on the home and our fundraising efforts. I’m humbled and amazed by all the different ways people show up and give of their time, their talents and their resources to help .
Pictured is the 11th quilt my aunt has made. The girls who come to Mackenzie’s House may have very few personal belongings, but when they arrive, they will have something to call their own, made with love and to symbolize new beginnings.

Cyndi treated us to a trunk show of over 35 quilts, runners and other projects she has made in the last 4.5 years since her last trunk show.
This quilt was found in Shirley Swifney’s house and finished in memory of Shirley.
