Baby Quilts
Since the start of our Baby Quilt Project, hundreds of baby quilts have been donated to various organizations. At the present time, Ottawa County Health Department andLakeshore Pregnancy Center are the recipients of our quilts. In fact, last year 166 quilts were given! These quilts are an important way we give back to our community. One of our monthly meetings each year is a "Quilt In," We bring sewing machines and fabric and sew, sew, sew! It's a fun time and we usually get quite a bit accomplished. Many hands make light work.
Donations of quality cotton fabric and batting are always appreciated. Based on our feedback, bright fabric and size around 40" x 50" seems to be the most practical.
We have kits available that include the cut fabric for the quilt top, quilt back, pattern, label, and batting at our baby quilt table each month. If there is one part of quilting that you enjoy more than another, don’t let that stop you; we have needs for any or all parts of the quilt making process.
If you are interested in donating or receiving more information, please contact Sue Milton.
Lighthouse Quilt Guild members make sure that families moving into our local Habitat for Humanity homes are welcomed with a beautiful, hand made quilt.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor (QOV) Foundation is to cover ALL war wounded and injured service members and veterans from the War on Terror whether physical or physical or psychological wounds with Wartime quilts called Quilts of Valor.
