What to do with orphan blocks and the fabric you have no need for any longer? Donate them to a good cause! Long standing guild member, Cyndi Phillip, is collecting these “misfits” to create into twin quilts for a new halfway house for foster girls that is opening in 2024 in Fennville, MI. Her niece, Jennifer, is working with “Grant Me Hope” to open this house that is being prepared to house ten 18-year-old young ladies who have aged out of the foster system. “Mackenzie’s House” is being established in remembrance of Jennifer’s daughter who died in the prime of her life in 2021. Mackenzie was a loving and generous young lady. Cyndi and her sister wish to carry on Mackenzie’s legacy by giving each young lady a twin quilt for their new bedroom. You can contact Cyndi via email at cphillip_56@yahoo.com . For more information on the house go to Mackenzie’shouse.org.
