Good morning, as a combat veteran with 2 deployments, I use quilting as my coping mechanism for PTSD. I have made 221 Quilts of Valor that have been awarded to “veterans, touched by war.”
My collection of 2 quilts will be on display Sept 15 to October 2nd at the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, MI. The Iwo Jima quilt is 12,100 pieces of 1 inch squares and is 110 x 110. The flag raising of 9/11 is 20,200 pieces of 3/4″ squares and is 98 x 116.
